SPACEPORT 2055
Spaceport 2055 is an expansion concept for a regional theme park in France.
Building on the park’s existing exploration-themed lands, this new area focuses on the ultimate frontier: space. Instead of taking a modern approach, it poses a playful question: What if humans had managed to establish an outpost on another planet back in the 1950s?

Layout
The land’s main attraction is a powered roller coaster that takes guests on a scenic tour of the outpost in small rocket vehicles, revealing a variety of unique locations along the way. Complementing this experience are two flat rides, an indoor quick-service restaurant, a souvenir shop, and several smaller outdoor food, beverage, and retail locations.

Main Attraction
People enter the attraction trough the areas centerpiece: The Spaceport. After queueing below, board the vehicles on the upper floor. After a first turn the ride enters the machine room before being fired from a massive cannon. It rushes into the greenhouse, sweeps past the restaurant, and continues through the outpost. The journey then descends into mountain caverns, where mysterious sights and an unexpected encounter await. As the mountain begins to crumble, the coaster surges forward and escapes, returning riders to the station. Guests exit through the land’s main gift shop.

3D-Visualisation
These early visualizations show the area from the visitor’s perspective. The spaceport, with its large central spine, serves as the park’s visual centerpiece and naturally guides guests toward the main attraction. To ensure the land remains comfortable during the hot summer months, various installations along the pathways provide ample shade for visitors.
