Game Of Power
„Game of Power“ is a cooperative political simulation game where players step into the role of the leaders of a fictional country.
Once renowned as a beacon of democracy, the nation of „Politopia“ has recently plunged into political turmoil. Deep societal divisions have fueled growing polarization, with political factions becoming increasingly hostile toward one another. In this climate, players take control of the country’s largest party, which currently leads a minority government.
To stay in power in this volatile landscape, players must continuously forge and reshape political alliances. Every law players seek to pass requires tough negotiations in parliament. At the same time players must maintain relationships with powerful entities outside the parliament to secure campaign funding and maintain a positive image in the media.
This intro sequence plays at the game’s start.
Two players, members of the same political party, take turns — Player 1, the press secretary, moves first, followed by Player 2, the head of government. Each has limited action points, ending their turn once spent. All parliamentary parties and active laws are displayed on the Map of Interests. The round concludes by revealing passed laws and fulfilled deals, after which updated poll numbers reflect the players’ grip on power.
Interface Player 1
The first player assumes the role of the party’s press secretary, responsible for securing campaign funding, managing media presence and maintaining public trust. To achieve this, they must negotiate deals with influential entities — agreements that the second player will later have to implement in parliament.
Interface Player 2
The second player takes on the role of the head of government, responsible for negotiating with other parties in parliament to secure the passage of laws. They must advance their party’s legislative agenda while also honoring agreements made by the secretary to maintain strong poll numbers.
End of Round
After both players action points are used up, all laws currently under discussion are put to a vote.
Depending on the deals fulfilled, a party’s campaign finances, media presence and trust rating will fluctuate at the end of each round.
All of this ultimately shapes the new poll numbers, reflecting the cumulative impact of every action taken in the previous round.
If the party’s poll numbers drop below a certain threshold, it will trigger unrest within their own ranks. If they fail to regain support in the following rounds, this internal turmoil ultimately leads to their removal from leadership.

The game was created in Unreal Engine. All 3D-assets were created using Rhino 3D. The graphics were created using Adobe Photoshop and Figma.
